LOOSE ZEBRA STALKS CALIFORNIA NEIGHBORHOOD
Homeowners in the La Cresta neighborhood of Murrieta, California, spotted a zebra wandering their streets Sunday morning. The area does allow for horses but, as it turns out, there are no restrictions or permits needed to own zebras. Neighbors took it upon themselves to corral it and a few other ponies, which had also escaped their enclosure, and get them back to their pasture.
* What’s black and white and runs all over?
* Can I pet him?
* Can a zebra stalk something? The only stalks they care about are the blades of grass they’re munching on.
* Now a tiger? A tiger can stalk a neighborhood.
* It wasn’t all bad. Several people at a party saw the zebra and immediately quit drinking.
* Some near-sighted people thought it was an extremely ugly escaped prisoner.
* Ironically the stripes make it easier for the zebra to blend in but it has to be with other zebras for that.
* The other theory is that the different colored stripes help it stay cool. Or maybe just look cool. I forget which.
