HYPNOTHERAPY CURES WOMAN’S FEAR OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

A British woman who has eaten only cheese, French fries and pasta for more than 20 years has been cured of her fear of fruits and vegetables by hypnotherapy. Jenny Edgar, 32, would gag if she tried anything other than diet of dry cereal, cheese and cookies, or her everyday dinner of pasta or French fries. (* Ah – the college diet!) She says the moment she decided to change was when she went for dinner at her fiance’s house and had to bring her own meal of macaroni and cheese. She says, “It was very embarrassing and I thought to myself that if I don’t sort it out now then I never will.” She started going to a hypnotherapist who coached her using cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnotherapy. During the first session, he had her eating apples and pineapple, and now after six more sessions she’s enjoying fish and vegetables.
* That has to be a big relief, in more ways than one. A big, big relief. A BIIIIG relief.
* A dinner of French fries. Too bad. She used to be a pretty cheap date for her fiance’, but those days are gone.
* She didn’t bother doing anything about this for over 20 years? That must have been some tasty macaroni and cheese.
* I can relate. I gag when I look at British food, too.
