HUNGRY KANGAROOS TAKING OVER CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA
Mobs of kangaroos have been raiding patches of grass in the Australian capital Canberra, taking over sports fields and back yards because of a lack of food. It’s now the middle of winter in Australia, and Canberra is experiencing a combination of very cold, frosty nights, coupled with very dry conditions with very little rain at all in June and July, meaning there is very little food for kangaroos, making any green, grassy area a magnet for hungry kangaroos. According to a 2016 report, there are more than 44 million kangaroos in Australia, compared to a human population of 24 million.
* And that’s just the kangaroos who bothered to filled out the census.
* I, for one, welcome our new kangaroo overlords.
* Kangaroos are like deer in America. Deer that want to punch you in the face and kick you in the crotch.
* What do you feed a kangaroo? Spring rolls? Mexican jumping beans?
* As long as they don’t start eating those adorable little koala bears.
