GIRLS WEARING LEGGINGS WERE NOT ALLOWED ON UNITED FLIGHT

A United Airlines gate agent in Denver stopped two girls from boarding a flight to Minneapolis Sunday morning because the young teens were wearing leggings – knee-length leggings, with t-shirt tops. They were asked to put on dresses over the leggings. The issue is not as clear cut as you might think. The girls were traveling on a United employee pass – the family were friends of a United employee, flying at a discounted rate. Part of that agreement is that, while flying, you are an “official representative of United Airlines” and thus are subject to the employee dress code. Enforcement of the code is left to the discretion of the gate agents. Social media exploded with users who called the incident horrendous, outrageous and nonsense.
* Remember when United used to fly Friendly Skies?
* In the defense of leggings, you never know when a yoga class is going to break out on an airplane.
* I say if teenage women can’t wear leggings on a plane then the terrorists have won.
* I thought this was United Airlines, not Taliban Airlines.
* “So what are you wearing for the flight tomorrow?” “I thought I’d wear leggings – why?” “Okay, if you wear them, I’ll wear them too. I mean what could go wrong?”

* PHONE TOPIC: Is it o.k. to fly in leggings? Is it o.k. to dress like a slob when flying?
