GEORGIA WILLING TO CREATE A CITY NAMED AMAZON TO GET NEW AMAZON HEADQUARTERS
A number of states are currently working to entice Amazon to open a new corporate hub there. Georgia has a unique pitch – they are willing to create a city of Amazon for the company’s planned expansion site. The Stonecrest, Georgia, City Council voted 4-2 on Monday to de-annex 345 acres of land if Amazon giant picks the area for what the company calls HQ2, which it claims will one day house 50,000 jobs. The city’s resolution asks the Georgia General Assembly to form the city of Amazon on that land. Said Stonecrest Mayor Jason Lary. “How could you not want your 21st century headquarters to be located in a city named Amazon?”
* It’s step Number 1 in making Amazon our 51st state.
* I’d rather have my headquarters in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, but that’s just me.
* Eventually, it’s going to be, “You don’t want to live in east Amazon – that’s the bad part of town.”
* Later, HQ1 and HQ2 each get an NFL team.
* I hope the folks of Stonecrest are ready for the sounds of drones coming and going 24/7.
