FUNERAL DIRECTOR TAKES SELFIE IN FRONT OF CASKET
A funeral home director in Jacinto City, Texas, is being accused of taking a selfie while a casket was being loaded into a hearse. Rose Molina says that she and her family buried a 32-year-old family member on Saturday. With the casket in the hearse behind him, she says, the funeral director, David L. Jones, appeared to take a selfie. Molina confronted Jones and he told her he was fixing his tie. Molina later found Jones on Facebook and saw that his feed was flooded with selfies in front of hearses and caskets. Joaquin Leal, owner of Leal Funeral Home in Jacinto City, said Jones is an independent contractor who works for the home.
* “Independent contractor”? Not so fast, Joaquin Leal. That doesn’t distance you from the responsibility to hire professional workers. It only means you don’t want to give them any benefits.
* Maybe it’s some sort of weird funeral version of Pokemon Go.
* Pokemon Gone?
* Okay, will someone tell me how upset I’m supposed to be about this?
* I mean selfies are almost part of the Constitution, right?
* Sure, it’s the pursuit of Facebook followers.
* If this is un-American than the Kardashians have been committing treason.
* Now if it was a selfie with the corpse, you’d have more of a complaint.
* Planning on hiring someone? Check them out on Facebook before, not after.
