FISHERMAN TRAPPED ON CLIFF BY ANGRY SEALS

A Scottish fisherman was walking on a beach in southeastern Scotland late last week when he came upon a group of seals and their young pups. The seals quickly became agitated and aggressive. To escape, the fisherman climbed up the face of a cliff, but he soon found himself trapped and unable to reach the top. He called for help with his cell phone, and Coast Guard rescue teams responded and used rope rescue techniques to safely extract the man from the cliff and into a lifeboat waiting below. Officials said the man was treated for exposure to the cold but was otherwise uninjured.
* “You’re what? Trapped on a ledge by a bunch of seals? We’ll send someone over, just as soon as we stop laughing.”
