FACE MASKS MAKE YOU MORE ATTRACTIVE
Science now says face masks make you more attractive. Researchers at Cardiff University in the UK found that both men and women were judged to look better with the lower half of their face covered. (* Okay – stop right there. If you cover the lower half of a British person’s face, they’re more attractive. ‘Cause – y’know – British teeth, am I right?) Dr. Michael Lewis, from Cardiff University’s school of psychology, said research carried out before the pandemic had found that medical face masks reduced attractiveness because they were associated with disease or illness. But since the pandemic, their study suggests faces are considered most attractive when covered by medical face masks. Dr. Lewis theorizes that now, at a time when we feel vulnerable, “we may find the wearing of medical masks reassuring and so feel more positive towards the wearer.” Another possibility, he says, is that masks make people more attractive because they direct attention to the eyes, partly because the brain fills in the missing parts of the face and exaggerates what can’t be seen.
* The less you see of the monster, the scarier it is. Like in “Jaws”.
* This is good news for anyone nicknamed “Bucky.”
* Does this work with those really ugly masks made out of goofy fabric?
* So, a bag over my head would turn me into Brad Pitt.
