ENTIRE TOWN'S LEADERS ARRESTED
Five top officials in Crystal City, Texas, were arrested last Thursday under a federal indictment accusing them of taking tens of thousands of dollars in bribes and helping the operator of an illegal gambling operation. Arrested were the city’s mayor, the mayor pro tempore and a council member, as well as the city manager, a former city council member and the alleged gambling operator, Ngoc Tri Nguyen. A fourth person on the city council, Marco Rodriguez, was arrested last month on human smuggling charges. Rodriguez admitted to authorities to being hired to drive undocumented immigrants across the border from Mexico. The only person left in charge of the town of 7,500 people is Joel Barajas, a city council member who has been on the job for nine months.
* Now he wants to be known as “King Joel the First.”
* Great, the one guy left in charge was too dumb to notice all this was going on.
* Unless he was the snitch.
* Crystal City, Texas, or as they like to call themselves, “Li’l Chicago.”
* Ngoc Tri Nguyen? I like to have that for lunch, with pork added.
* At least they were working together as a team.
* Whoever said, “You can’t fight city hall” has never been to this town.
* See, the key is to accept the bribes in a legal way – like the Clintons did with their speaking fees.
* Oh, I’m sure they both give a nice speech – well, maybe not Hillary – but I doubt if they deserved 153 MILLION dollars for their little talks.
* Is that Crystal City short for Crystal Meth City by any chance?
