COUPLE MARRIES AT WHOLE FOODS
For their wedding, a Chapel Hill, North Carolina couple wanted to pick a place that held a personal connection to both of them. So they went with Whole Foods. Ross Aronson and bride Jaqueline Troutmant said they solidified their relationship during trips to and from the supermarket. Ross, who enjoys cooking gourmet food, even popped the question in Whole Foods, with the help of food sample stations set up throughout the store. “It was more charming and heart-meltingly romantic than I ever could have imagined,” Jacqueline said. She adds that they love the idea of having an important life milestone happen in a place they constantly go, and that every time they shop there it will always remind them of “an incredible day and significant moment when we made our lifelong commitment to one another.” The Saturday ceremony was held in the floral department of the grocery store and followed by a reception in the store’s café area.
* As they say at weddings, “Something old / Something new / Buy bulk beans / In Aisle Two.”
* Flowers or no, the entire store always smells like fish and cheese.
* Onlookers threw rice – the fancy organic Indian brown basmati rice.
* Now that Amazon owns Whole Foods, they could have had the entire wedding delivered to a nice chapel somewhere.
* It’s Chapel Hill you goofballs, not Whole Foods Hill.
