COUPLE MAKES DEODORANT OUT OF WHISKEY

Erica and Jason Feucht (* watch that pronunciation!) of Longmont, Colorado, make toxin-free, natural deodorant from a mixture of tea, whiskey and vodka. The idea actually started with Erica putting hand sanitizer in her armpits before she left for the day. For some reason, when they realized that hand sanitizer contained alcohol, they figured deodorant should be made from booze. Jason spent months reading medical papers and textbooks to find the right mix of alcohol and natural antimicrobial products to make the best deodorant. They raised money through Kickstarter.com, and Pit Liquor was born. Best of all, they send some of the profit to Guinea-Bissau, a small country on the west coast of Africa, where they used to live. The money is used for loans to small businesses and medical bills for friends.

* Pit Licker was also old grandad’s nickname in college.
