COLLEGE TEACHES MARIJUANA FARMING
As Canadians prepare for the legalization of recreational cannabis tomorrow (Wednesday), 24 students are becoming the first in the country to get formal credentials in growing pot. Ontario’s Niagara College is teaching its first group of students to irrigate, feed, protect, track with bar codes, test for chemical content, harvest and cure marijuana. Program coordinator Bill MacDonald says they’ll also learning the business side: If you’re growing this crop, how much is it going to cost you? How much labor will you need? He adds that licensed producers are already lining up for graduates.
* Can you believe that they’ve succeeded in making marijuana uncool?
* “Bill MacDonald had a pot farm / Eee-I, Ee-I, Oh man, I am so stoned!”
* The dog smoked my homework?
* Well, Niagara College IS an institute of higher learning.
* From toques to tokes.
