AUDIO: WOMAN BLASTED SAME OPERA SONG FOR 16 YEARS
A Slovakian woman who has been driving her neighbors crazy by blasting out opera music for 16 years has finally been arrested. The woman, identified only as Eva N, played a four-minute aria of Placido Domingo singing from Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata” non-stop in her house in the southern town of Sturovo, with speakers on full blast, from morning until night. It all started when she played the music to drown out a neighbor’s barking dog, but then continued doing it. Now, after 16 years of Placido Domingo, police arrested Eva N on Monday and she faces charges of harassment and malicious persecution and faces up to three years in prison.
* A worse punishment would be making her go to the opera.
* What a jerk! Everybody knows the best recording of “La Traviata” is the one with Luciano Pavarotti.
* They arrested her after 16 years? What’s the rush?
* She actually only played the song for a few hours, but it’s opera, so it just felt like 16 years.
* Could have been worse. Could have been jazz.
