AUDIO: RAT CAFE'
Something called The San Francisco Dungeon – a sort of walk-thru fun house using actors and special effects to tell “interactive stories about San Francisco’s dark and gripping past” – is hosting a two-day-only pop-up cafe set up for those who want to enjoy a delightful morning with rats. For $49.99, patrons can “sip their coffee while seated at bistro-style tables … followed by 15 minutes of being surrounded by friendly, domesticated rats.” The price includes all-you-can-drink coffee, tea, water and pastries. The Dungeon claims it will follow all food service rules, and that food will be cleared out before the rats are allowed into the “cafe.” The two Rat Cafe’ dates are July 1st and a week later, July 8th.
* Don’t everybody rush now. Remember, there are two dates.
* I don’t need that. I’ve been to New York City.
* And in New York, you get the rats for free.
* Don’t let anyone slip you a Mickey.
* All-you-can-drink water? I’m there!
* Hey, Michael Jackson sang that one song “Ben” to a rat. Maybe that could be the theme music.
* The best part is, after 15 minutes with the rats, you hear the words, “OK. Release the cats!”
* San Francisco’s dark and gripping past? Oh grip this.
* And I’ll let you interact with it all you want.
* Do you realize how tough it is to be the worst idea in the country this morning?
