AUDIO: LONDON BURGER KING PLAYS TOTO’S “AFRICA” FOR ONE FULL DAY
A Burger King restaurant in North London’s Camden Town played Toto’s ‘Africa’ yesterday on a loop for the whole day. It started with a Twitter campaign. Burger King wrote on Twitter last Sunday: “If this tweet gets 1000 Retweets we’ll play Toto – Africa all day in one of our restaurants”. The message got 6000 retweets. While the stunt may be fun for customers, more that a few people have concern for the workers: One Twitter user wrote: “Don’t do that to your employees, listening to the same song on repeat all day is HORRIBLE”.
* Obviously that guy has worked in retail at Christmastime.
* After the news spread, the only customers they had the rest of the day were drive-thru.
* This just in: there was a mass suicide of the employees at a London Burger King yesterday…
* They ought to have a contest where they play the Toto version all day, but when the Weezer version pops up, everybody who recognizes it gets free French fries.
* Coulda been worse. Coulda been “We Built This City”.
* If only Burger King spent this kind of energy on their food.
