BOY SCOUTS ACCUSED OF POACHING GIRL SCOUTS
The Girl Scouts are accusing the Boy Scouts of America of trying to poach recruits. Kathy Hopinkah Hannan, president of the Girl Scouts USA, accused the Boy Scouts of a “covert campaign to recruit girls,” to boost membership. Hannan said it was shortsighted to think a program tailored to boys could easily be translated to girls and that trying a co-ed model would undercut the Girl Scouts. Boy Scout membership has plummeted by a third since 2000 to just more than 2 million as of 2016. Since last spring, the Boy Scouts have sought input from their members and 270 councils nationwide about how the organization could serve more girls.
* I bet the Boy Scouts weren’t prepared for this.
* This’ll really spice up the ol’ Jamboree.
* This would make it much easier to get a merit badge in Making Out.
* The Boy Scouts are just after the Girl Scout’s cookies, if you know what I mean.
* Maybe the new Girl Scouts can tell the Boy Scouts their popcorn kinda sucks.
* I’m confused. I thought we didn’t have genders anymore?
* Could everybody just be Person Scouts?
