ROBBER WALKS INTO POLICE STATION TO REPORT HIS OWN ROBBERY

Last Friday, the Wood River, Illinois Police Department received a 911 call from Wood River Market reporting an armed robbery. Police investigated and got a description of the suspect. Less than an hour later, a man walked into the police station wanting to report the robbery. Somebody noticed that the man reporting the robbery matched the description of the guy who’d robbed the market. Officers arrested 19-year-old Joshua Franklin, who apparently thought he would be able to throw the police off his trail if he reported the robbery.
* At least he’ll have some down time to figure out where his plan went wrong.
* “They’ll never suspect me if I’m the one reporting the robbery.” Don’t do drugs, kids.
* Too lazy to grow a beard and shave it off after the robbery?
* One clue was when he showed the sketch artist his own driver’s license.
* “Officer, my evil twin just robbed a grocery store.”
