SANTA WINS FIGHT TO KEEP "HO HO" LICENSE PLATE

The Alabama state Motor Vehicle Division has reversed an earlier decision to revoke the “HO HO” license plate of a man who plays Santa Claus. Dave Reid, who plays Santa Claus year-round in the Montgomery area, said he went to renew his license plate recently, but the state Motor Vehicle Division told him his “HO HO” license plate was being banned after six years because it could be seen as offensive. Reid called the ruling ridiculous. “When you live with the spirit of Christmas year round, when you project that spirit to the children, where ever you meet them, whenever you meet them, it’s a slap in the face when a government entity says that’s offensive,” Reid said. “How far do we go with that? It’s really crazy.” Reid got his “HO HO” license plate reinstated.
* “HO HO”? Where did the third “HO” go? To the VD clinic?
* His wife is allowed to have a plate that says “Vixen”, so what’s the big deal?
* How far do we go with government power? I don’t know – ever heard of a place called Guantanamo?
* It’s the Bible Belt. All he had to say was “The War on Christmas” and he was going to win.
* He celebrates the spirit of Christmas year around? It’s tough enough just for the month of December.
* If I ate like I do during the holidays year around, I’d weigh 500 pounds.
* I can see the problem with the “Ho Ho” license plate. What if you’re a prostitute that likes dressing up as Santa?
* I have one word for a man who identifies with Santa this much: creepy. Not clown creepy but close.
