AUDIO: ASPIRING WEATHERMAN STARTS FIRE SO HE CAN FILM HIS AUDITION TAPE
An aspiring weatherman started a forest fire then filmed himself reporting from the scene in an attempt to draw fans to his Facebook page. Authorities say Johnny Mullins started the blaze in Jenkins, Kentucky, last week, then filmed himself from the scene and uploaded videos to Facebook. The 21-year-old was later arrested and told officers he started the fire because he liked the attention it brought him. Local police officers said he never intended to put anyone at harm. Said one, “It’s really too bad because he’s not a bad kid – he’s just misguided.” He was arrested for arson.
* Aspiring weatherman arrested. Film at 11.
* Great special effects, Johnny! What app did you use?
* Wait – how is a forest fire a form of weather?
* Maybe if it’s started by lightning?
* I guess he got tired of trying to start a rainstorm with a pack of matches.
* Not a bad kid? He started a forest fire, you idiots.
* What would he have to do to be bad then?
* I can hear it now: He’s really just the victim here … a victim of his desires to be a weatherman.
* I think they said he was “misguided” as a polite way to say he’s dumber than a truck full of rocks.
* And here’s the proof: Jenkins, Kentucky already HAS a weatherman.
CLIP: A bit of Johnny reporting from the scene.
