GUY DRESSES AS DARTH VADER, PICKS UP ROAD TRASH

Last year, Henry Wakley adopted a stretch of Route 460 in Blacksburg, Virginia under the name Darth Vader. Since then, he’s been going out dressed in a Vader costume – complete with day-glo orange safety vest – to pick up roadside trash. Wakley says like to go out in costume because it makes people smile driving by, adding, “The lack of cleanliness disrupts me.” Wakley said he hopes using the Dark Side of the Force for good will inspire others to keep their roads clean.
* The Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is strong in this one.
* Unfortunately, in the future we won’t need roads.
* People enjoy it so much that they’re dumping more trash by the road just to watch him work.
* In his universe, the Force is divided into the Clean Side and the Dirty Side.
* It’s like if Darth Vader got sentenced to community service.
* When he pushes the button on his light saber, out comes a wooden pole with a spike on the end for jabbing at garbage.
* I don’t remember seeing anyone in Star Wars wearing a day-glo orange safety vest.
* Oh well, I suppose it takes all kinds to make an insane asylum.
