AIRPLANE BRAWL OVER LOUD BOOM BOX
A brawl broke out among five women aboard a cross-country flight Wednesday morning after two of them refused to turn down the music from their boom box. The two passengers “appeared to be intoxicated” on the Baltimore to Los Angeles flight, Spirit Airlines said in a statement. When several other passengers asked them to lower the volume, the two women refused, asking, “What are you going to do?” while waving their boombox in the air. When the plane landed, an all-out brawl happened in the aisle – fists were flying and hair was pulled, all while stunned fellow passengers held their cell phones up to record the altercation. Emerson Silva, one of the witnesses, says the women were throwing serious punches. Airport police were called and removed all five women involved. After speaking with them for an hour, police released them. The FBI was also called in to investigate, although no one was charged.
* I guess it’s too much trouble to prosecute people who fight on an airplane. It’s much easier just to X-ray everyone’s shoes.
* Spirit Airlines is serving too much spirits.
* Boom box? When did this plane take off? 1980?
* The weird part? They were playing Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.”
* It’s one thing to have a tense flight from Baltimore to New York, but Baltimore to Los Angeles? That’s a long time to intermingle and get to know each other.
* Here’s a case of reverse sexism. If 5 guys do this somebody’s getting arrested.
* But with 5 women it’s like, “Don’t worry your pretty little heads about this. Have a good day.”
* After the run of airline stories we’ve been having lately, I’m just glad there was no urine involved.
* “Please, we ask that passengers remain seated and not begin fighting until the plane has come to a complete stop.”
