LADIES UNDERWEAR BEING SENT TO THE FRENCH PRIME MINISTER

French Prime Minister Jean Castex is being sent female underwear in the mail, as a protest by lingerie stores closed under the country’s Covid lockdown. The protest came about after lingerie stores were classed as non-essential businesses, and were therefore forced to close to reduce transmission of Covid-19. The group behind the protest says, “Florists, booksellers, hairdressers and record shops have been classified as ‘essential’ businesses. But what about underwear? Isn’t it a question of hygiene and protection? Isn’t it the first thing we put on in the morning?” So far, around 200 retailers have sent panties to the prime minister.

* And how did they find out what size the prime minister wears?
