COLLEGE SPRAYS EVERGREENS WITH SKUNK ODOR TO DETER THEFTS

Officials at the University of Idaho have sprayed 200 evergreens on campus with a nasty mixture of skunk scent and fox urine in an effort to deter thieves from stealing them to use as Christmas trees. Charles Zillinger, the university’s landscape and exterior services director, said, “You know what a skunk smells like when you pass it on the road? It’s like that only intensified in a small contained space.”
