FAILED SHOE THEFT

Thieves snatched 21 pairs of Valentino shoes from a truck in front of the designer’s flagship store in Midtown New York City Wednesday afternoon – but the pair didn’t get far. The 48-year-old driver who was making the delivery saw the men loading the shoes – worth about $21,000 – into a blue Dodge van. He jumped onto the vehicle and hung on for three blocks before the thieves got scared and stopped. The two crooks took off on foot running, leaving the van and the shoes behind. The man who had been delivering the shoes suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene. There were no arrests.
* Which just goes to show: you can’t run with heels.
* The thieves would have gotten away quicker, but they went back to accessorize.
* To reward the driver, Valentino’s gave him a lovely pair of Rockstud Two-tone Leather Pumps.
* Plus, he got a blue Dodge van out of the deal.
* I would argue that 21 pairs of any shoe are not worth $21,000.
