AUDIO: BILL GATES BUILDING A CITY FROM THE GROUND UP

Bill Gates is building a new city from the ground up. He has invested $80 million to kickstart the development of a brand-new community to be built on a large plot of land about 45 minutes west of Phoenix off I-10 near Tonopah. The proposed community is called Belmont, and the plan is to make it a “smart city.” According to the development company, “Belmont will create a forward-thinking community with a communication and infrastructure spine that embraces cutting-edge technology, designed around high-speed digital networks, data centers, new manufacturing technologies and distribution models, autonomous vehicles and autonomous logistics hubs.”
* Sounds romantic.
* No monorails?
* Belmont, Arizona. Obviously, they spent a lot of time thinking up a cool name.
* Let me be the first to call it what it is: Westworld.
* Every couple of days, the town will automatically shut down for updates.
