WOMAN GIVES BIRTH, CONTINUES DRIVING HERSELF TO HOSPITAL
On Wednesday, a Phoenix, Arizona, mother gave birth to her fifth child while en route to the hospital. Shannon Geise said her water broke around midnight, but having given birth four times before, she figured she had a few hours to spare before driving herself to the hospital, so she took a shower and packed her hospital bag. But about five minutes from the hospital, and with her 17-month daughter watching television in the backseat, she felt a huge contraction and pulled over onto the shoulder. “He just pushed, I felt him go down,” she said. “The next time, his head came out, and then I pushed two more times, and his shoulder and everything came out, and I was kind of just in shock.” Geise gave birth to baby Sebastian in her front seat, and after hearing him cry, dialed 911. They asked, “Do you need an ambulance?”, and Geiss told them, “Honestly, it would be quicker for me to just go.” Geise drove herself, her daughter and newborn Sebastian to the hospital. She says the family’s GMC Denali is being detailed before her release from the hospital.
* I’d have destroyed the car with fire, but that’s just me.
* Then she got a ticket because the baby wasn’t in a safety seat.
* Kid stuck his head out and said “Are we there yet?”
* Where’s Dad? Maybe he figured he’d already done his part.
