MAN KILLED OVER IMAGINARY GIRLFRIEND

A mentally ill man in Port Richey, Florida, gunned down his mother’s friend for making a move on his imaginary girlfriend, and then was killed after a gunfight with police. Brian DiSario, a 30-year-old man with a history of mental illness, fatally shot David Armstrong, 56, after accusing him of making a romantic pass at his nonexistent girlfriend while they were inside his mother’s garage on Thursday. DiSario accused Armstrong of “messing with” his girlfriend before pulling out a gun and shooting him. DiSario then went into the home to get another gun, came out and shot Armstrong again, killing him. DiSario headed away from the house, where cops found him standing in the middle of the street. There was a gun battle in the middle of the road before DiSario managed to run back home. A sheriff’s office robot later found DiSario’s body in the garage. It was not clear if he killed himself or died of shots fired by police.
* The imaginary girlfriend? She isn’t talking.
* Lucky for her, the bullets passed right through her.
* This is where a background check could have helped. “My girlfriend here will vouch for me.”
* It wasn’t exactly a love triangle. Not even a love… line? More of a love point.
