AUDIO: SCHOOL BUS DRIVER GETS LOST ON FIRST DAY
A New Jersey school bus with a load of students went missing on the first day of school Thursday morning. The driver was on his way to Dwight D. Eisenhower Elementary School in Parlin when he somehow got lost in Sayreville. When the bus failed to show up, school staff realized something was wrong and asked the school resource officer to go look for him. The driver was reportedly found around 10:15 a.m. and guided to the school. Families didn’t find out that their children were marked absent from class until after reading comments in a “Sayreville Parents” Facebook group page. Police said the driver will likely not be arrested or charged, but he could face discipline from the school.
* As punishment, he has to remain a school bus driver for the rest of the year.
* “When the bus failed to show up, school staff realized something was wrong.” Sharp group!
* Guy gets lost trying to find the grade school named after the President who created our national highway system. Sad.
* If you’ve never driven in New Jersey, understand that maps are no good. You just have to develop a feeling for where you want to go and sort of aim that direction.
* If only there was some sort of handheld device you could use to communicate with people when you get lost.
CLIP: From The Simpsons, the “Hail to the Bus Driver” song.
