4-YEAR-OLD SUSPENDED FROM PRE-SCHOOL FOR BRINGING IN 22-CALIBER SHELL CASING
A 4-year-old boy in Collinsville, Illinois, has been suspended from his preschool for bringing a shell casing from a fired bullet to school. Hunter’s parents didn’t even know he’d found it, but he found something he thought was pretty neat and he took it to school Tuesday to show his friends. Hunter’s mom Kristy Jackson met with a stone-faced teacher who said that her son had a “shotgun bullet”. When she showed Kristy what it actually was, she saw it was a 22-caliber shell casing. Hunter was suspended for 7 days. The school, bolstering their case, also claims Hunter had been using other toys as make-believe guns, in violation of school policy. The school’s vice-president says that the school was simply following its discipline policy. He said he couldn’t go into further detail, citing confidentiality concerns.
* And the fact that they were in full-blown Cover Your Ass mode.
* Well, the kid’s name IS Hunter.
* Hunter used his week off to beat another level in Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
* You’ve learned an important lesson, Hunter. Whenever a teacher asks “What have you got there?”, swallow it.
* A 4-year-old? You hate to see them go bad so young.
* I’m not saying I understand this reaction, but then again I sort of understand it.
* Collinsville, Illinois, huh? Sounds like a tough town.
* Suspended from pre-school just sounds bad. It’s like you didn’t even make it into the school and they threw you out.
