TWO PEOPLE WANT TO GO AROUND THE MOON
The SpaceX company is going to send two private citizens around the Moon. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced Monday that it will be a private mission with two paying customers, not NASA astronauts, who approached the company. The passengers are “very serious” about the trip and have already paid a “significant deposit,” according to Musk. The cost: around $80 million. The trip around the Moon would take approximately one week: it would skim the surface of the Moon, go further out into deep space, and loop back to Earth – approximately 300,000 to 400,000 miles. The trip is planned for 2018, but deadlines for commercial space travel are rarely met. The two people going on the trip, who weren’t named, already know each other.
* … please be Kim & Kanye … please be Kim & Kanye … please be Kim & Kanye …
* I wonder if they’re planning to join the “400,000 Miles High Club”?
* SpaceX. Sounds just like SpaSEX.
* Just think: from this moment on, those two brave citizens will be forever known as ‘the two douchebags who want to go around the Moon’.
* It could blow up, go off course, it’s cramped, it lasts a week, during which you could die at any moment. Yeah, that’s worth $80 million.
* Maybe if SpaceX paid YOU $80 million.
* Maybe it’ll be like Hunger Games and they’ll just select a citizen from each district and force them to go.
* Yeah, whoever makes it back from the moon gets to live.
* I disagree with the sentence, “The SpaceX company is going to send two private citizens around the Moon.”
* I mean they’d like to but whether or not it happens is anyone’s guess.
