TURTLES START DOING IT AT FASHION SHOW

New York Fashion Week started last week. At Pier 59 studios on Thursday, designer Mathieu Mirano created a desert-inspired scene to showcase his designs. Models wearing elegant gowns stood on a desert landscape of sand, with a couple of large tortoises thrown in for character. Only as the models were posing, a 200-pound African spurred tortoise pursued and mounted a female African spurred tortoise. The creatures were left undisturbed during their mating, although several of the models giggled.
* So it was Valentine’s day for them, too.
* Nice to see them come out of their shells.
* I guess they love it when someone watches.
* Male turtles are just like guys. Two minutes is a long time for them too.
* Great, so we’re using other animals on this planet as scenery in our fashion shows. How arrogant is that?
* It’s the same arrogance that had that clown last week throwing a gator into the drive-through window at Wendy’s.
* Now here’s the Turtles with “Happy Together.”
