SLOW-SPEED CHASE BECAUSE THIEF DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE STICK
A Pinson, Alabama, man is behind bars after leading sheriff’s deputies on a low-speed chase in a stolen delivery truck early Wednesday. Police heard from a witness that a man had stolen a Kenworth T-300 flatbed delivery truck. Deputies spotted the truck and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver – later identified as 29-year-old Randy Dewayne Vert – refused to stop and continued driving. Vert was apparently unfamiliar with the complexities of a manual transmission and was unable to get the truck out of first gear. The truck roared along at speeds of 25-30 mph on I-59 south. Deputies followed until the transmission seized and the truck stopped. Vert was removed from the truck and arrested.

* It’s embarrassing when you’re being chased by police and there are kids running alongside you.
* We say this all the time: if you’re going to steal a car, if you’re going on “The Amazing Race” – learn to drive stick.
* Stuck behind the wheel and not knowing how to make it go forward. It’s a Donald Trump metaphor, isn’t it?
* Now his cellmate will be showing him how to handle stick.
