SCAMMER PRETENDS TO BE DRUMMER FOR NICKELBACK

Police in Port St. Lucie, Florida, arrested Lee Howard Koenig on Tuesday. The 45-year-old Koenig was accused of pretending to be Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair and trying to purchase approximately $25,000 in gear. Koenig was using Adair’s identity to order drum parts and microphones from a company in Vienna, Austria. The purchase was so large that the company called the band back to confirm the purchase, and that’s when they caught on to the fraud.
* The fraud that was this guy, or the fraud that Nickelback makes music?
* Did Nickelback get their moneyback?
* Police have let him go, figuring it’s punishment enough that somebody thought he was a member of Nickelback. (This joke comes courtesy of the internet.)
* When they asked him why he tried to be Daniel Adair, he said “Gotta Be Somebody.”
* I guess Lee Howard Koenig never made it as a wise man.
* This would be a bigger story If Everyone Cared.
* Wait, he was in Florida and he ordered the stuff from Austria? Thanks for buying American.
* Never mind, he was trying to scam them so that helps our economy.
* At the very least you would think you’d have to be present to sell a con like this. I’m not a criminal – I’m just speculating.
* Start small. Try and run up a room service tab as the drummer, then go for a big ticket item later and in person.
* No wait, not in person. What if they asked you to play the drums?
