NO ONE EATS THREE MEALS A DAY ANYMORE
Three meals a day is a thing of the past as nearly three-quarters of Americans no longer eat a traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner. According to a new survey conducted by OnePoll in conjunction with Farm Rich, a frozen snack food company, more and more Americans are opting for “snack meals” and smaller regular bites as a common alternative to three meals per day.
– 86 percent of Americans eat 2 meals and 3 snacks a day.
– The meal most often replaced with snacks? Lunch.
– Peak snacking hours are between 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
– The most common foods that make up a small-plate or “snack meal” are cheese, crackers, chips, veggies, lunch meat, fruit, nuts, yogurt – followed by a variety of frozen foods/snacks such as mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets, sliders, pizza bites and potato skins.
* More like nobody eats JUST three meals a day anymore.
* Mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets, sliders, pizza bites. The great part is how a “small-plate snack meal” has three times the calories of an old-fashioned lunch.
* Two meals and 3 snacks sounds so much better than what it really is, which is one extended 12-hour long meal.
* Why don’t you just wear an IV drip all day filled with Cheez-Whiz?
* Farm Rich – now there’s an oxymoron.
