MONOPOLY ANNOUNCES NEW TOKENS

The Hasbro company on Friday announced the three new Monopoly tokens that American has voted on. Gone is the thimble, boot and wheelbarrow. The new tokens are a T-rex, penguin and rubber ducky. The full lineup of tokens now includes a Scottie dog, top hat, car, battleship, cat, T-rex, rubber ducky and penguin.
* Also, they’ve added three zeroes to all the play money denominations.
* If you don’t like the new Monopoly tokens … Sorrrry!!!!
* It’s been brutal. First the Scottie dog ran off with the rubber ducky, then the T-rex ate the penguin.
* They’ve totally abandoned any pretense of having the tokens represent ways to make money, so at this point they may as well just pull nouns out of a hat.
* Darn, they always announce these big controversial stories on Friday so they get buried in the news cycle.
* They added a T-Rex? I wouldn’t bring up the concept of dinosaurs – not when you’re trying to sell a board game.
* Why not a drone, a smartphone, and a big-screen TV?
* What they should have done was replace all the tokens with an app.
* Then you could use your smart phone to move them around.
* All those years with the thimble, boot and wheelbarrow and now – poof! – they’re gone. How much more sudden change can we take?
