MOM THANKS COPS FOR ARRESTING HER DAUGHTER DURING SPRING BREAK
The Walton County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office received a thank-you note last week from the mother of a teen they arrested for underaged drinking. The girl and several other Spring Breakers were arrested on March 15. The note read, in part, “The arrest scared the HELL out of her and I’m hoping she learned her lesson. The reason that I am sending this is that every officer that I talked to or that I could hear in the background talking to her was so nice. She was holding a can of beer on the beach. A stupid move that I warned her about before she left, but I’m just her mother, so ‘in one ear and out the other,'” the letter continued. “Each and every officer was respectful and assured me she would get back to her house safely. For a mom hundreds of miles away, that was very reassuring.” The mom also wrote, “In this day, ‘cops’ are getting a bad rap. So, I wanted to say ‘thank you.'”
* God forbid the mom should tell her teenager, “No, you can’t go hundreds of miles away during spring break.”
* Give her the ultimate punishment: Take away her smart phone.
* No, wait, she needs all the smarts she can get.
* Holding a can of beer on the beach? Give me a second to daydream about that.
* A stupid move her mom warned her about? What was the warning – “Pour your beer into a soda can”?
* Ahh, the official end of winter in the wacky news: the Spring Break stories are starting to roll in.
* PHONE TOPIC: Is mom not doing her job here? Why did she let her daughter go in the first place?
