MAN TRIES FAKE 911 CALL TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC TICKET

In Gresham, Oregon, an officer pulled over Salvador Sanchez-Buenrostro for a traffic violation. The officer soon discovered that Sanchez-Buenrostro’s license was suspended. But while the officer was away from the car to write a citation, Sanchez-Buenrostro called 911 and reported a shooting nearby, in the hopes that the cop would be called away. It didn’t work. The 911 call was traced to the location of the traffic stop, the officer received the cellphone number the call was made from, and determined it belonged to Sanchez-Buenrostro. Sanchez-Buenrostro was arrested for improper use of 911. Plus, he still got the traffic ticket.
* I always love it when they get creative and immediately make things ten times worse.
* His next plan was to offer the cop ten bucks to “make the whole thing go away.”
* Give him enough time and he’ll turn this into a life sentence.
* Just a reminder to all you cellphone geniuses out there: the calls can be traced.
* We need an app that disguises your outgoing number. Think of the fun!
* So other than the ticket and the arrest the plan worked great.
* Maybe it was one of those Minority Report things and he was reporting the shooting before it happened.
