MAN ROBS SUBWAY, WALKS ACROSS STREET AND BUYS SANDWICH FROM COMPETITOR

A Chicago man robbed a Subway sandwich shop with a knife, and then crossed the street and bought a sandwich at another sandwich shop, named Potbelly, where he was arrested. Fredrick Warren, 43, was still eating his Potbelly sandwich when police arrived just before 5 p.m. on April 26. Investigators caught Warren’s trail by watching surveillance video. It showed him crossing the street and walking into the Potbelly store. There was no sign of him leaving the Potbelly, so they went inside and found him eating near the back of the shop.
* There’s a good commercial in there somewhere for Potbelly.
* “Our sandwiches are so good, Subway robbers have to stop in to eat them during their getaway.”
* A sandwich shop named Potbelly? Why not just call the place “Let’s Get Fat On Sandwiches”?
* Investigators caught his trail? That’s a little dramatic, isn’t it?
* I mean it wasn’t like a manhunt across 11 states.
* “Attention all units. The suspect has crossed the street and went into another restaurant. Don’t lose him.”
* The only hard part was realizing that he could be this stupid.
* As great chase scenes go, this doesn’t quite get it.
