MAN KILLED HIS MOM, KEPT HER AT MOTEL FOR 7 WEEKS
Here’s a great way to kick off Halloween week: A Pleasant Valley, New York, man has been accused of strangling his mother, and then keeping her remains in a motel for seven weeks before moving her body to a small town in South Carolina. Police allege Charles Cole, 48, strangled his 78-year-old mother, Betty, on August 16 at the Pleasant Valley Motel, where they and Charles’ wife all resided, and kept the body there for seven weeks. Cole, police say, then stuffed the body into a plastic bin, packed it into a Ford Escape and drove to South Carolina. There, he left the remains in a secluded area off of Interstate 95, about halfway between Augusta and Charleston. Cole’s wife, Ronalda Cole, 40, also faces charges.
* “Hello, front desk? I’d like to order Tomb Service.”
* Oddly, she used to complain that he never took her anywhere.
* Nice touch having the town name be Pleasant Valley. Kind of ironic, no?
* I guess calling the town “Nightmare Village” would have been too direct.
* I do like the sound of the Nightmare Village Motel though.
* Yes, he left the body in a secluded area – just not secluded enough.
