MAN DIES DURING THE KRISPY KREME CHALLENGE

A man has died during the Krispy Kreme Challenge. The race is held in Raleigh, North Carolina. Contestants are supposed to eat a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts midway through a 5-mile marathon. Organizers of the annual Krispy Kreme Challenge said in a news release that a 58-year-old man dropped out of the race during the first mile Saturday morning because of chest pains. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The unidentified man left the race before reaching the Krispy Kreme eating location.
* They say it like that makes it worse.
* “If only he could have had a donut before he fell over, we wouldn’t feel so bad.”
* This is horrible to say, but … that just means more for everyone else.
* They say he died with a glazed look in his eye.
* Wow, his heart stopped just anticipating the doughnuts.
* Guess why his arteries were so blocked. C’mon – guess.
* I hope this doesn’t put a damper on the Pizza Hut Triathlon.
* This could be an episode of “CSI: Delicious.”
* Great, you run 5 miles and come out of it fatter than when you started.
* Just think of it as his own personal finish line.
* Here come the lawsuits: Because of the promise of the doughnuts he was enticed into doing something he shouldn’t have.
* Maybe they think it’s a 5-mile marathon but I say if you eat the doughnuts halfway through, that race becomes two and a half miles long.
