HOTEL GUEST LOCKED OUT, SHOOTS LOCK OFF THE DOOR
A guest at the Beachcomber Hotel in St. Pete Beach, Florida, found himself locked out of his room last Thursday at around 8 o’clock in the morning. So, he did what anybody would do – he shot the lock off the door. Deputies arrived to find 35-year-old Charles Richardson, of Dunbar, West Virginia, sitting in the lobby. Richardson used a handgun to shoot the lock on his hotel room door because he had locked himself out of his room. He then proceeded to shoot a glass window at the hotel for no apparent reason. No one was injured at the hotel as a result of the shooting. Deputies recovered the handgun near Richardson’s hotel room. He was charged with two felony counts of shooting within an occupied building.
* Honestly, I never imagined that would really work.
* He acts like it was the lock’s fault he forgot his key.
* “I’ll teach that lock a lesson it won’t soon forget!”
* This is what happens when the hillbilly sensibility of West Virgina meets the wackiness of Florida.
* And sorry, West Virgina and Florida, but you brought this on yourselves.
* Doesn’t he know he could have picked the lock with a paper clip? I saw that in the movies, too.
* This happened at 8 a.m.? And I thought I was grumpy in the morning.
* Maybe he shot the glass window because it was looking at him funny.
* No one was injured at the hotel unless you count the rattled nerves.
* You know it’s bad when the hotel maids are wearing Kevlar jackets.
