FORMER ASTRONAUT HAS THEORY ABOUT ALIENS
Alan Bean, 85, was one of three crew members on board Apollo 12. He walked on the moon back on November 14, 1969. Bean doesn’t think we are alone in the universe. But he also doesn’t think they’ve come to Earth yet. “One of reasons I don’t believe they have been here is that civilizations that are more advanced are more altruistic and friendly – like Earth, which is better than it used to be – so they would have landed and said ‘We come in peace and we know from our studies you have cancer that kills people, we solved that problem 50 years ago, here’s the gadget we put on a person’s chest that will cure it, we will show you how to make it.’ Just like some day, say 1,000 years from now, when we can go to another star and see a planet, that’s what we would do because we will know how to cure cancer, cure birth defects, so we would teach them.”
* Actually, the starships would be sponsored by corporations who would SELL them the stuff we invented.
* Or we wouldn’t give them anything, we’d just take all their minerals – like in “Avatar.”
* We should teach them to avoid making reality TV shows. They lead to no good.
* What if the aliens were already here, but they gave the survival tools to the cockroaches?
* He thinks Earth is altruistic and friendly? Sure, when we’re not trying to kill each other.
* Unfortunately for humanity on this planet, it’s been one long war since time began.
* Maybe the aliens are just refusing to visit ’cause they know how nuts we are.
* Alan Bean was on the space flight you wanted to be on … the one before Apollo 13.
* How about the Phoenix Lights? The Governor of Arizona held a press conference with his aide dressed as an alien to ridicule the witnesses. Ten years later, he admitted seeing the ship himself. True.
