FLIGHT ATTENDANT SET FIRE IN PLANE MID-FLIGHT
An American Airlines flight attendant has been arrested, suspected of starting a fire during a flight. The FBI says Johnathan Tafoya-Montano reported a fire in the rear lavatory aboard an American flight from Dallas to Detroit on February 1. Tafoya-Montano, who was a member of the flight’s cabin crew, extinguished the fire, and the aircraft landed safely in Detroit. Tafoya-Montano later admitted to using a Bic lighter to ignite paper towels in the lavatory before pretending to discover the fire and extinguish it.
* I’ve seen some flight attendants who were flaming, but this is much different.
* Would this be considered employee burnout?
* Time to upgrade the old application screening process.
* I’ve heard of lighting a match in a bathroom, but a bunch of paper towels is going too far.
* This sounds more like a job for Glade or Febreeze.
* This comes after last month’s fist fight between two female flight attendants on Delta.
* Then if you want to go back to 2014, we had a Saudia airline pilot in a fist fight with a male flight attendant.
* Once again, we all want people who are passionate about their jobs but let’s not overdo it.
* There’s never a good place for arson, but arson in a jet airplane? That could easily be a worst-case scenario.
