FALLING TOILETS BLOCK LA FREEWAYS
Several toilets and other falling debris from an overpass snarled traffic Tuesday morning on the 134, 170 and 101 freeways in California’s San Fernando Valley. The California Highway Patrol began receiving reports of the debris around 5:15 a.m. A truck carrying bathroom equipment – most of it porcelain – was traveling westbound on the 134 Freeway and transitioning to the northbound 170 Freeway when the driver lost control and collided with the overpass bridge, causing toilets and other debris from the bed of the truck to fall over the side of the bridge and onto the northbound 170. The debris covered four lanes and a carpool lane on the 170 Freeway. The highways were reopened around 8 AM.
* Commuting was a no-go.
* I wonder if the driver crapped his pants?
* Usually you see the Johns on the streets at night.
* Traffic was snarled? I would have said “clogged”.
* Relax, the Los Angeles area doesn’t really rely on their freeway system that much anyway.
* Isn’t the San Fernando Valley already one big toilet?
* Let’s hope this doesn’t impact the fine reputation of Burbank.
* How bad is it when one accident affects three freeways?
* This freeway system needs a courtesy flush.
