DON'T TAKE A SELFIE WITH A RATTLESNAKE

A Southern California man who picked up a rattlesnake to pose for a selfie was badly hurt when the reptile bit him on the hand. Alex Gomez, 36, was bitten on Monday by the 4-foot rattler in a field at his family’s ranch southeast of Los Angeles. Gomez’s hand swelled up after the bite, and he was taken to a local hospital and treated with anti-venom. But the skin on his hand and arm is starting to rot, and he may lose his hand, and maybe part of his arm. Having seen the photo of Alex with the snake around his neck, his mother, Deborah, said: “I’m shocked that he would have that thing around his neck. It could’ve bit his neck, and that would have been it. That’s just being a fool.” His loving mother says she decided to share his story in order to embarrass him. “I told him the news people had been calling, and he said ‘Mom, you better not’, and I said ‘I’m going to.’ I’m going to teach him a real good lesson when he gets home. No mercy for him.”
* I think she’s related to the rattlesnake.
* Why mock your son? You’re the one who raised him to be an idiot.
* It sounds like people are starting to forget what the rattle part is there for.
* If the rattle doesn’t warn you away, snakes are going to have to start carrying signs.
* Wait – they can’t – no hands.
* The Mom’s going to teach him a lesson? I thought the snake already did that.
* She said, “No mercy for him”? Ahh, it’s so nice – no matter how bad things get – to have Mom in your corner.
* How about this guy’s mom, huh? You have a vicious creature just full of venom, and then you have the snake.
* Don’t hold your breath for those flowers on Mother’s Day, sweetheart.
* That being said, the mom’s completely right – this guy is a total idiot.
