COLLEGE SHOPLIFTER TOLD COPS SHE WAS WORKING ON TERM PAPER ON KLEPTOMANIA
A Wyoming college student was caught shoplifting. Her excuse? She told officers she was working on a term paper on kleptomania. 23-year-old Lydia Marie Cormaney was arrested on June 5 after trying to leave Walmart in Gillette, Wyoming, with nearly $1,900 worth of merchandise. Investigators later found thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen items in her dorm room. Cormaney told officers she began shoplifting after being forced to move into a new dorm room, away from her roommate who had many of the household items.
* “No, officer, I’m sorry. Not kleptomania…what’s the other thing? Oh yeah – compulsive lying.”
* It was obviously a lie. No college student does research any more, they get their papers off the internet.
* Her next paper will be on the American judicial system.
