AUDIO: PARROT SHOUTS "REDRUM"
There is a parrot in Arizona who is obsessed with the horror movie “The Shining” and likes to shout out “red rum”. Greg Negron’s parrot Honey originally picked up on the phrase when her owners first watched the 1980 horror classic ten years ago, and has said it daily ever since. Negron says they watch the movie around three times a year and say the parrot goes crazy when it’s on.
* All perch and no fly makes Honey a dull bird.
* Says it daily? That doesn’t sound annoying at all.
* It also loves any movie with a bird in the title.
* Some all-time favorites include, “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
* Then there’s “The Maltese Falcon.”
* Greg won’t let Honey watch “The Birds”. Doesn’t want it getting any ideas.
* When the parrot is bad, Greg punishes it by putting on “Mr. Popper’s Penguins”.
* It also has a thing for the parrot in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.
* It’s not all good news though. The parrot finds the Tweety Bird cartoons to be degrading and offensive.
