ANOTHER WACKY NEWS STORY FROM FLORIDA: MAN'S AMPUTATED LEG THROWN IN TRASH

A south Florida man is suing a hospital for emotional distress, saying his leg was amputated and thrown in the garbage with his name tag still on it. John Timiriasieff, 56, had his right leg amputated below the knee in October at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables. The hospital threw the amputated limb into the garbage, with tags indicating it belonged to him. A month later, Timiriasieff said his family was contacted by homicide detectives investigating if he had been the victim of foul play. When the family went back to the hospital to find out what happened, officials clammed up, though they have issued a statement. “Proper procedures have been reinforced at the hospital to prevent similar situations from happening in the future.” Normally, amputated limbs are incinerated by hospitals.
* Or used for stew in the hospital cafeteria.
* “Dang it, I wanted to make a lamp out of that leg!”
* Those homicide detectives are really on the case. Do murderers really chop people up and then put name tags on the parts?
* Maybe if you have obsessive-compulsive disorder and you want to bury your victims alphabetically?
* If it goes to court the hospital won’t have a leg to stand on.
* Yikes. Imagine searching through the dumpster looking for empties and finding that.
* At least charge them with tagging.
* Fortunately, the tags were in a doctor’s handwriting so no one can read them.
* The man whose leg it was is incensed. In fact, he’s … everyone all together … hopping mad.
