GUYS SET NEW CANNONBALL RUN RECORD IN A TESLA
Jordan Hart and Bradly D’Souza have set a new record for the fastest transcontinental drive in an electric car – 51 hours and 47 minutes. The two departed from Redondo Beach, California on July 1 at 11:30 p.m. PT in a 2015 Tesla Model S, hitting charging stations across the country, and arrived in New York, NY as their final destination. The route took them through Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Hart said they had a lot of luck on their drive, hitting zero traffic jams, only four minutes of inclement weather, and arrived in NYC on a holiday to find the streets almost empty and devoid of traffic.
* It would have been even shorter, but they made a detour to Burt Reynold’s house in Florida to pay their respects.
* A new record … in an electric car. Kind of cool, kind of dorky.
* C’mon – if it was a Lamborghini, this story would have a whole other vibe.
* And Jordan and Bradly would have picked up a lot more girls.
* Across the country, non-stop. That sounds exactly like family road trips with my dad.
