SEC. OF ENERGY RICK PERRY: DEMAND FOLLOWS SUPPLY

U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry was speaking on Thursday at the Longview Power Plant, a coal plant in West Virginia. According to those who were in attendance, Perry offered up some wisdom during his tour. He said, and this is a quote: “Here’s a little economics lesson: supply and demand. You put the supply out there and the demand will follow.”
* It’s the “Field of Dreams” theory of economics.
* This is the same reasoning that gives us movies starring Amy Schumer.
* Although you have to admit, it worked with those fidget spinners.
* It’ll be alright, folks. He’s only in charge of a little bit of the government.
* The law of supply and demand is one of the oldest, most basic principles of common sense econom– well, there’s your problem right there.
* Give your kid a huge pile of peas tonight, see if his demand follows your supply.
* There’s another law he should be familiar with – the law of Foot in Mouth.
